Kite surfing.

The winds of Lefkada perfect for Kite surfing. Lefkada organizes Kite surfing competitions in Vassiliki and at Agios Ioannis beach. This fantastic and relativly new sport is a combination of windsurfing, waterski, waveboard and paraglyding. With stray wind the kite surfers reach speeds of 30 to 40 miles an hour. Lefkada is one of about 16 places in Greece where you can go Kite surfing. But Milos Beach Club in Agios Ioannis hosts every year the biggest Kite surfing event.

You can see the more experienced kite surfers perform spectecular high jumps and impressive manoevres. See the video on the Lefkada videos page.

If you like to try kite surfing you can go to Milos beach for lessons. They say it takes about 2 to 3 hours with an instructor and you can start to Kite surf.

 

 

Wind surfing.

Lefkada is also famous for its perfect weather conditions for windsurfing and known as mecca for windsurfers.

In Vassiliki the gentle morning breeze allows beginners to learn to windsurf and in the afternoon the more experienced wind surfers can enjoy the stronger thermal winds coming from the mountains.

Neilson Active Holidays has its windsurfing center at the best spot of the bay just a mile outside the vilage of Vassliki.

 

 

 

Horse riding.

Riding schools can be found in Vassiliki and in the olive grove of Lefkada town. Trips or programed rides lasting about 3 to 4 hours are organised in Apolpaina and Vassiliki.

Whether you are riding through the fields surrounding Vassiliki or on the beach near Lefkas town this will be a horse riding experience you will never forget.

Kayak and canoeing.

For a unique sea kayaking experience you can book a 6 hour trip in advance. Discover superb beaches, hidden caves and you will have the opportunity to see a group of dolphins. Diving in Lefkas.

The Nautilus Diving Club is situated in vassiliki and exists since 2002. They offer dive courses for beginners but also for more advanced divers. Courses like Scuba diver, open water diver, rescue diver and bubble maker for kids are given all by Padi standards.

They are opnened from 15 April till 10 October from 10.00 to 18.30 daily.
