Local Busses

There is an inexpensive way to go around the island with the local transport system, the KTEL Busses. These busses service most villages on the island with the central station located in Lefkada town. From the main bus station there are also busses that go other destinations in Greece such as Preveza, Athens, Patras and Thessaloniki.

Taxi

Another way to explore the island is by taxi. There are plenty of taxis available in the main resorts of the island. Before you jump in a taxi discuss with the driver how much he charges to take you to your destination.

Airport taxis should be booked well in advance. If you need to arange transfers from abroad you can ring the taxi service below. If you need more than one taxi for large parties or families consider booking the minibus.

Rent a car

By boat

From Nidri harbour you can book a daily cruises to the nearby islands Meganissi, Kefalonia and Ithaca.

During these trips you will have the chance to swim in the crystal clear and turquoise blue water of the famous Porto Katsiki beach.

On their program they also have visits to Fiscardo in Kefalonia and Ithaca

With some of the smaller boats you can take a short trip around Onasis island Scorpios.

There is also the local ferry that goes to Meganissi and Kefalonia.
