Lefkas map.

This is the Lefkas map page of the insider's travel guide of Lefkada. When you visit Lefkada it would be a shame to spend every day of your holiday at the beach. I know that's what some people do on their holidays but Lefkas Island has so much more to offer!

One thing you will need if you plan to discover the beauties of the island is a map. A Lefkas map can help you plan your day trips around the island.

Lefkada is located in the Ionian sea and is one of the Ionian Islands or as they also call them the Eptanisa. Eptanisa means seven islands (Corfu, Paxos, Lefkada, Ithaka, Kefalonia, Kythira and Zakynthos). These islands are located on the west side of Greece as you can see (in red) below.

map of Greece

Lefkada is the only island in the Ionian and also in Greece that is connected with a moving bridge to the mainland. For many tourists this is one more reason to choose the island of lefkada for their holidays because it saves them the trouble and the extra costs of a crossing with the ferry boat.

Lefkada lies between Corfu and Kefalonia. When you are in the south of Lefkada the island of Kefalonia is visible on a clear day. Using the ferry from Nydri it takes about one and a half hour to go to Kefalonia. You can also go on one of the organised cruises that go to Kefalonia and Ithaka on a daily base.

The maps on this page are to give you a rough idea where Lefkada is situated in Greece and in the Ionian. If you plan to go out and about to discover the island I suggest you get a more detailed map.

Before you go on holiday you can buy this detailed map of Lefkada online. This is particularly useful if you have a car ready waiting at the airport and have to drive to your accommodation on your own.

A terrific book for when you are lying on the beach enjoying the sunshine of beautiful Lefkada.

This inspiring and true adventure story is about the author and her husband's journey to find beauty and meaning on the little known island of Lefkas.
Who hasn't dreamt of 'opting out' on a Greek island? Expect a new and refreshing voice, written with humour from Diane Griffith. The Greek people are portrayed with all the quirkiness that make them so endearing.
The realistic descriptions of the people and places in the evocatively Greek environment take you right there with them, sharing in this heart-warming venture.
The text moves along at a comfortable pace, and the prose is vivid and full of memorable images that contrast the island's beauty with their travelling hardships, in their 18 year-old VW camper van..
Follow them on their journey and find out if they found the secret of true happiness, or were they merely chasing dreams?
